We did a little opinion poll to find out, what is the most popular profession in Saldus!

We gave our classmates forms and asked to fill them. One form looks like this:

We got back 25 correct filled forms, what are filled by 6 males, 19 females who are 13 – 16 years old.

In our classmates opinion the popular professions are seller, teacher and hairstylist, but the MOST popular profession ir seller, because ir Saldus are lot of stores and in every single one of them are many sellers.

When we asked to name relatives or friends professions, in the end the most popular profession really is seller, but about teachers and hairstylists we though wrong – just several respondents wrote, that their relatives or friends are teachers or hairstylists. More popular professions are lawyar, builder, confectioner, kindergarden teacher or driver. Of course, these facts may be incorrect, because we didn’t survey every single resident of the city.

When we asked, what you want became, there were many different options, but most popular were hairstylist and lawyer.

We are very creative and active people.

After school we all have different activities. Here in Saldus we have three centers where we can expand our talants.We have SMMS, BJC and Kulturas nams (Cultural center).In each of them we have different options.

Saldus Cultural Center

Saldus is located in the cultural center. There happens a variety of events and concerts. But there can also dance folk dancing. Folk dancing is very interesting and nice! Dancing happens twice a week. Folk dancing participants also participate in concerts. Dancing folk dances participants can be on the big Latvian celebrations – „Vispārējie latviešu Dziesmu un Deju svētki.” Folk dancing, it will be useful in the future, if you want to link your career with dancing.

Another Saldus Cultural Center offers theater classes, but the lessons are more for adults. We've seen a few shows and they are really interesting! Those young people who want to link their career with the theater, they definitely this is useful lessons.

Art school

In art school you can:

· Paint

· Sketch

· Create compositions

· Draw

To end the art school it is necessary to learn 7 years. You can view the exhibition at art school. Draw is funny and interesting.

SALDUS MĀKSLAS UN MŪZIKAS SKOLA

In Saldus mūzikas un mākslas skola you can play:

· Violin

· Flute

· Piano

· Guitar

It’s funny and interesting. You can see your friends and play musical instruments with them. In mūzikas un mākslas skolas different measures. Sometimes we go to them.

BJC (Center of Youth)

- Events, balls, artist performances

- It`s more for kids

- You can participate in clubs, take classes: Guitar and Drumsplay,piano, Graffiti and drawing class, swim club, Glee, English class, Dancing class, Drama club, rhythm dancing, „Girls style” class

Learning oppertunities in Druvas Highschool

Druvas Highschool has many extracurricular schools, in witch we can learn many things that will help in life.

There are six schools:

1. School for your own style. In this shchool you can gain knowing about your style and how to increase it plus know more about fashion. For extra tasks you can improve the atmosphere in classes.

2. New mathematics school. You can learn how to do many mathematical tasks, wich can help in solving mathematical problems further in school.

3. New Businessman of district Kurzeme school. In this school you can gain knowlidge about business and businessman work. This school is one of the schools who can help further in life, when trying to start your own business.

4. The school of new geographs. In this school you can know more about georaphy and try to be the best in your class. You can learn how to find lakes, islands and anything you can imagine, fast and clever – this and more is possible in new geographs school.

5. The new biologists school. In this school you can know more about biology and all of its subfields: zoology and teaching about human body - anatomy. There are times when teachers from Riga come to these studies to show how to do section of a frog. Very interesting.

6. District of Kurzeme new Programmers school. Here you can gain knowlidge about computers and everything that is included in computer science. Many fun activities that helps in understanding computes science.

These are the things you can learn in Druvas Highcshool.

Saldus Sport Centre is a great place where you can do a lot of sports. In one building there is a lot of different kinds of sports. It works everyday from nine a.m. to ten p.m. There is a many coaches on each other sport.

There is gym with new equipment. Many teenagers and adults go to gym. In the same building there is two basketball- volleyball halls and runway. I am practising in basketball here too. There is a new equipment- balls, baskets and other differents training equipments. Each age group starting from 5-6 to 18-19 there can train in basketball. When it is basketball season there is tournaments for kids and every weekend there is basketball games for youth leagues. Basketball club „Saldus” plays on the Latvijas Basketball league’s top.

Athletes practise on runway. In Saldus athletes can practise every day and it don’t depends on your age. In the evening there come womens and train TRX program.

On the second floor there is sauna, gymnastic-dancing room and rest room. In dancing room you can learn zumba, aerobics and exercises,

Next to the sport centre there is restaurant. After games or practising athletes go and eat dinner or breakfast.
