This is the second year when Saldus Elementary
school is participating in the Nordplus
Junior projects, which, together with
the Lithuanian teachers developed teacher Linda Kuskova. This year the
project theme is „Mission: My Career”.
From January 25th to 29th Saldus Elementary school
and Druvas Secondary school students from 8th and 9th grade and teachers Evita
Dureika and Liāra Beļķeviča took part in Norplus Junior project „Mission:my
career” in Lithuania, Nemenčinė, Gediminas
Gymnasium.
On Monday we were excited when we went for a 5
hours long trip by bus to Lithuanian town Nemenčinė.
On Tuesday we presented our home – fatherland, town,
school, business and we learnt interesting facts about Lithuania, too. In
groups we made our bussines plans and in the evening we visited Vilnius.
On Wednesday we went to Anyksciai. We saw and
learned about the oldest professions - blacksmith,
baker, potter. We visited Horse museum, baked our own rye-bread and enjoyed the
benefits of Lithuanian countryside. Then our ride took us to the Treetop
walking path. There is also the second biggest stone in Lithuania – Puntukas.
On Thursday we participated in Lithuanian classes.
In sports gym we ran, jumped and did gymnastics. Later we learnt Lithuanian
language in Lithuanian language class. In the afternoon we visited Vilnius –
museum, where with the guide we learned a lot of Lithuanian history. After that we walked around the Vilnius Old
town. Little churches that were close to each other and small streets reminded us the Old town of Riga.
On the last day – Friday, we wrote a questionnaire
about this week.
On our way to home we visited Trakai Island Castle,
which is the biggest lake castle in the Eastern
Europe.
Thanks for the chance to participate in this
project!
