Pharmacist

Last year on Student Shadow day I shadowed a pharmacist. Pharmacists, also known as chemists, are healthcare professionals who practice in pharmacy- sciences focusing on safe and effective medication use. My pharmacist said she had to know every single medication in a pharmacy. Also, she said you have to be really patient, because a lot of old people visit the pharmacy.
The most common pharmacist positions are-  community pharmacist (also referred to as a retail pharmacist, first-line pharmacist or dispensing chemist), or a hospital pharmacist, where they instruct and counsel on the proper use and adverse effects of medically prescribed drugs and medicines. Pharmacists may also practice in a variety of other settings, including industry, wholesaling, research, academia, military, and government.

In most countries, pharmacists must obtain a university degree at a pharmacy school or related institution, and/or satisfy other national/local credentialing requirements. In many contexts, students must first complete pre-professional (undergraduate) coursework, followed by about four years of professional academic studies to obtain a degree in pharmacy. Pharmacists are educated in pharmacology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, microbiology, pharmacy practice (including drug interactions, medicine monitoring, medication management), pharmaceutics, pharmacy law, physiology, anatomy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug delivery, pharmaceutical care, nephrology, hepatology, and compounding of medication.
There are about 3 or 4 pharmacies in Saldus and each one needs 4-5 pharmacists.

Veterinarian

Veterinarian is person who provides medical help to different pets and animals. He also gives suggestions to animal owners, how to help and treat their pets. Usually a veterinarian works in his own clinic, but, if needed, he goes to places, where some animal need help. It is very important for a veterinarian to be patient, because animals can’t speak, and can't tell, where something is hurting, he has to see the diagnosis of the animals appearance and behavior. Usually vets work for eight hours in a day, but can react to emergency calls, so he has to be ready to work in any time of the day. The most important thing in veterinarians work is to love animals!

The tasks which are performed by a chef are extremely diverse, as this is an incredibly varied profession. Generally, a chef supervises a kitchen or a section of a kitchen, overseeing staff, food, menus, and related issues. In order to become a chef, someone must pursue some form of professional training. Some chefs attend a culinary academy to learn their craft, while others work their way through kitchens, starting at the bottom as apprentices and moving their way into top kitchen positions
The main duties of cooks in restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities and schools include the following:

Commercial designer

Commercial designers duty is to create a unforgettable commercial or advertisement that people will keep in they're mind and have good associations with real life things or/and situations.
They have to think of commercial composition and colors. They have to think what would be the best way to show their product and what would people think when they see this commercial and in the same time - will they see it?
They have to make it enjoyable and easy to notice in any situation .
They are working mostly with technologies  like computer, camera and etc. They are working untill the job is done or they have a special date untill they can finish it.
Commercial designers are even responsible of any budget analysis related with their job and so. They have to be really responsible and serious about every action they do and they are going to do. They are responsible about every person who helps make this commercial, like actors, special effect specialist and etc.
However they don't have to be serious about everything. They can joke if commercial is supposed to be funny and they can use all imagination they have to make enough good commercial that shows what are they publishing.
No matter what this profession is supposed to do, anyway it has to be as the client has ordered it and every idea they make has to be shown to the client.

Many people think that this is not a serious profession but I think it's really important in these days.

Firefighter

A fire fighter is a rescuer extensively trained in firefighting, primarily to extinguish hazardous fires that threaten property and civilian or natural populations, and to rescue people from dangerous situations, like collapsed or burning buildings or crashed vehicles. In many countries, fire fighters may be employed as full-time workers and paid a salary. Additionally, there are volunteer fire fighters (who are doing a unpaid job) and retained fire fighters (who are paid for the specific time they are on duty).

Fire fighters need to have very good communication skills with other people to keep a group of people or even individuals calm in very dangerous and stressful situations. They also need to fit to work with heavy machinery and rescue people who are trapped in a collapsing building, sometimes even carrying the injured out of the building on their backs. And one of the most important skills of a fireman is courage. A fireman must be prepared for the worst and needs to be ready to run into a burning building without a second thought.

A high school education is sufficient to be hired as a fire fighter, but many fire fighters go on to earn degrees in fire science in order to advance in their careers. Some departments require their recruits to participate in apprenticeship programs that may include college courses. In addition fire fighters are usually required to earn certification as emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

If in the future you want to become a hairdresser, remember, you will need strong nerves.

Each hairdresser have to learn in special school 3 or 4 years, or go to special courses to become a hairdresser.

You have to buy your own accessories such as combs, curling iron and others.

But be careful, because if the scissors fall down they are no longer used.

I think this profession is mostly for girls, who tend to do things perfectly (Samanta Plīta).
